The Candy Man Lines Them Up

May 03, 2019

Emerging galloper The Candy Man lines up at the Gold Coast tomorrow looking to keep his picket fence formline in tact.

The imposing grey has been something of an Autumn racing find in Brisbane stepping up to each task put in front of him and coming from the rear of the field last start for an impressive victory at Doomben in heavy conditions.

While it's another step up in class tomorrow trainer Barry Baldwin is not fazed his charge is up to it saying the horse has continued to thrive this preparation.

The grey races in the colours of another famous grey of years gone by in Gunsynd and is providing loyal owner Lucky Pippos plenty of thrills.

Pippos races the horse in partnership with longtime Gladstone based friends Edgar and Cynthia Allen who have stuck with the horse through all his earlier issues.

The group purchased the Casino Prince five year old from the Magic Millions Ready To Run Sale and while they have missed the three-year-old classic races they look set to be rewarded this Winter.
