Gold Coast Sun Shines on Glendara

Aug 31, 2014

The lightly raced Glendara went another step in showing why trainer Barry Baldwin holds him in high regard with a stylish win at the Gold Coast today.

The four-year-old was having his second run this preparation after a tough win at Doomben three weeks ago.

Ridden by young Sairyn Fawke, he jumped and was positioned near the rear before Fawke decided to push forward.

Sitting four wide as they rounded the bend into the straight Glendara then strode to the front and put paid to his challengers, winning comfortably.

Baldwin said post race he thought the horse had the ability to win today and praised Fawke for his ride and work ethic at the track.

Glendara is out of the Marju mare Art Gallery who is closely related to the Group performers Dopff, Valpolicella and Catalonia.

BB Racing are presently syndicating a half sister to Glendara by the hot young sire Rothesay and have very few shares remaining.
